Power Generation & Utilities

Our UHMWPE and HDPE products play a key role in power and utility applications. For example, wearresistant UHMWPE liners and sheets are used in coal-fired and biomass power plants to improve flow in bunkers, hoppers and conveyors. These liners drastically reduce material hang-ups: one study showed a UHMWPE bunker lining could run reliably for 10+ years, solving bridging problems and boosting silo utilization by ~62% . In nuclear and medical facilities, our lead-boron polyethylene plates provide radiation shielding (neutrons/X-rays) with the durability and light weight of plastic. Overall, our materials’ low-friction, high abrasion resistance and chemical inertness make them ideal for the harsh, high-wear environments of the energy industry.
